Learning Syntactic Structures with XML
نویسنده
چکیده
ALLiS (Architecture for Learning Linguistic Structure) (D6jean, 2000a), (D6jean, 2000b) is a symbolic machine learning system. The learning system is based on theory refinement. It tries to refine (to improve) an existing imperfect grammar using operators such as contextualisation and lexicalisation (Section 4). ALLiS separates the task of the generation of rules and the task of the use of these rules (task of parsing). First symbolic rules are learned and saved using an own formalism, and in a second time, these rules are converted into a proper formalism used by a specific rule-based parser. The rules generated by ALLiS contain enough contextual information so that their conversions into other formalisms is possible (D6jean, 2000b). We present here the three tools we tested in order to parse texts.

Serialising the ISO SynAF Syntactic Object Model
This paper introduces , an XML format developed to serialise the object model defined by the ISO Syntactic Annotation Framework SynAF. Based on widespread best practices we adapt a popular XML format for syntactic annotation, TigerXML, with additional features to support a variety of syntactic phenomena including constituent and dependency structures, binding, and different node types ...

متن کاملComparison of the high-frequency morpho-syntactic structures of cochlear implant children and children with normal hearing aged 4-6 years
Introduction: Children with cochlear implants experience problems at all language domains, and have more problems in morpho-syntactic skills than others domains. Considering the importance of morphology and syntax in developing of communication skills of children, this study compared the use of high-frequency morpho-syntactic structures among 4-6 years old children with cochlear implants and ty...
متن کاملSyntactic Semantic Correspondence in Dependency Grammar
This paper describes the semantic format of the UAIC Ro-Dia Dependency Treebank, based on the previous classical syntactic annotation. The discussed format exploits all the semantic information annotated in the morphological level. The transformation of syntactic annotation into semantic one is made semi-automatically, using a tool called Treeops, which is a converter of an XML format to anothe...
